I just moved out to Butte, America--land of the Berkely Pit and Evel Kneivel!
I'm spending a year as an Americorp VISTA member, and I'll be working with a non-profit here called the National Center for Appropriate Technology, or NCAT. My specific project is to help design, develop, build, and maintain a small-scale intensive sustainable farm, and farmer training program. The idea is that if we can successfully do that in Butte, which is located in not only USDA Hardiness Zone 3 (meaning winter lows get into the -30s), but also in the nation's largest Superfund site, we can do it anywhere.
I'll let you know how that works out.
For at least a few more weeks I'll be living at 700 W Galena Street, and I love getting mail!
Tu n'est pas un bebe! Tu est une jeune femme loin de la maison qui apprend beaucoup de choses.
